This one was not your typical roofing job. Barn Happy is a working property with a massive gambrel-style barn, a connected home, and two iconic cupolas sitting right up top. Tim and Kris trusted us with the whole thing - and we took that seriously.

Before we could even think about new shingles, we had to tear off 3 layers of old roofing. Three. That's a lot of weight that had been sitting on that structure, and once it was stripped back, we could see why redecking was necessary. Getting down to solid, fresh decking before anything goes on top is the only way to do it right. There are no shortcuts when you're dealing with a roof this size.

The curve of a gambrel roof is no joke to work on. Our crew used safety ropes and lift equipment the entire time to move across that surface safely and efficiently. Once the new decking was solid and the underlayment was fully wrapped, we laid the shingles course by course across that wide, curved span. The finished surface is clean, uniform, and built to handle whatever the midwest throws at it.

Then there were the cupolas. These are big, heavy metal structures - not something you just carry up a ladder. Getting them set and secured at that height took real coordination from the whole crew. Seeing those polished cupolas standing back up on a fresh roof at the end of it all was genuinely satisfying. The whole property looks sharp.

We're proud of this one. Not just because of how it looks, but because of what it took to get there. Big properties with unique structures need a crew that knows how to problem-solve on the fly - and that's exactly what we did here.
